Rugged yet smooth, Kodiak Brown Ale balances caramel and roasted malts with enticing Northwest hops. Perle and Willamette hops accent without overpowering this American brown ale’s intrepid maltiness. The result is uniquely delicious.
Inspired by the adventurous spirit readily found in Alaska, Kodiak Brown Ale invites you to take the road less traveled. Kodiak has remained one of our most popular beers since we first fired up the brew kettle in 1995, proving that Alaskans are not afraid of the dark.
Pair Kodiak Brown Ale with comfort foods—macaroni and cheese, lasagna, burritos; pub grub—burgers, nachos, deep-fried bites—and just about anything prepared on the grill. You can also just kick back and enjoy a tall cool one when you want to relax and enjoy LiFe.

That. That is not good. Brassy brown and just too much.

22 oz bottle gifted by Wyatt. Part of the endless Alaska haul. Thanks! Rich with caramel and bready malt flavors. Bran like aroma, subtle aroma of malts and a dark fruit. Very flavorful, just a hint of a metallic note. A nice brew for all seasons. Good one here.

0.355l can. Definitely a brown one in color, little cloudy and a tall almost fluffy but somewhat fading beige head that leaves minimal of lacings. Smells mild chocolaty. Tones of nuts, dark berries and some darker types of malts. Nice and not too extreme aroma. It has a somewhat high carbonation level wrapped in a mild oily texture. Tastes quite good. Again it's mild chocolaty with a nice dark caramel sweetness. The high carbonation is kinda disturbing the flavors a tad perhaps. There's hints of truffles, marzipan and red berries in the finish. All in all its definitely a little dull, but drinks nice enough. 24.06.2015

Can from Top Hops, NY. Medium brown in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, toffee and berry fruits, with a hint of nuttiness and toasty malts, leading to a gentle finish with a hoppy edge. Good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Cloudy brown with a beige head. Aroma of malt, yeast, overripe fruits, a bit of cardboard notes, caramel, mild hops, a light nutty note and a toasty hint. Sweetish flavor, caramelly, fruity, with mild toast and a mildly bitter finish. Medium-bodied.

Pours a dark brown leaving some light amber edges, has a two finger white foamy head, moderate sticky lacing spider webs after a good minute, aroma is rugged roasty nutty maltiness, light caramel displays a decently strong presence, lightly hopped; the flavor is extremely roasty, perhaps one of the roastiest brown ales I’ve ever had - wow, dry finish, its fairly easy on the palate despite some harsh (rugged more or less) carbonation; overall, I say this is a pretty good brown ale that I would have again
