Bottle. A dark golden one, almost amber, flat and with an oily pour. Rather alcoholic nose with some caramel, not much else escaping the glass. The flavor is alcoholic, with caramel and some fruity notes. Intense. Full-bodied and warming. I’ve had more pleasant strong eisbiers than this one, this one sort of reminds me of a cheap, boozy cognac. 120218

Amber color. Aroma of caramel and biscuits, then alcohol. Dry biscuity flavor; the alcohol perception is higher than expected, it feels in the 50’s; the final has some dry roasted nuts. Nothing I would be so interest in looking for, but an interesting experiment, and actually quite well brewed technically.

Bottled. An amber beer with no head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, and wood - too simple for my liking. The flavor is extremely powerful with notes of caramel and malt as well as lighter notes of smoke and then the alcohol that burns in the throat. The body is extremely strong. Huge thanks to yespr for sharing.
