Bottle consumed at home Monday 27th August 2012 brought along by dad ’cheers dad!’ Quite boozy nose, touch dusty in mouth, fruity, sweet & malty, little bit of watery fig juice but it is the dustiness that I find a bit tricky. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-whit ehead. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with weak hints of dark fruit. Sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish fruity malty caramel finish.

First review for 2012
Bottle from Alesela
Ruby brown..clear...thin white head which totally disappears
Aroma of rich caramel malts..bit of toffee....hint of fruit..bit vinous...no hops
Taste of sweet dark caramel malts...bit of port wine...slight toffee...bit of sweet dark fruit....vinous...alcohol quite noticeable...no hops...not complex...didn’t get the chocolate...actually rather simple, not much going on, would like more of this flavour - too distant
Palate - soft carb then goes flat ..smooth creamy texture but a bit thin....Finish of fruity dark malts...goes quickly...some warming alcohol..slight bitter residual
Aroma and taste ok but was rather too subdued (even when drinking warm). Did not keep the carbonation - went flat too quickly. Could have been a lot better.

Mye sedimenter.

330ml silver neck bottle bought at a Vino Wines store in Edinburgh half a year ago. Chilled down a bit before serving. Small, tan-coloured head. Deep mahogany coloured body. Smell of dark malts mixed with dark fruits. Caramel-chocolate taste with fruits coming through. Roasted bitterness in the background, still pretty sweet. Smooth in the mouth. Decent (shared with Finn, Tromsø 29. 06.2011).

Bottled at Grand Tasting at RBESG 2010. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, yaest, phenols, and minerals. Not clean as it should be.

Re-rating. Major hazelnuts and chocolate on the aroma this time and these are followed through on the taste. The blue cheese taste and aroma has mostly gone into the background now - bottle conditioning is great! In fact, this has been in the bottle for around 18 months. The impressive thing though, is the palate which displays power with elegance and length, in the same way that a fine French wine does. Excellent re-visit! Original Rating 12/03/11 6/3/7/4/14 The appearance is like espresso but with a red hue. A malty nose with a nuttiness on the background. Because it is cold, I think it is harder to get the notes on it. Agree with Blairgus on the blue cheese, too! The palate is loaded with hazelnuts with some caramel - maybe praline. The structure is full, the texture is creamy (despite being chilled) and the finish is fairly sharp, though it is more of a roasted malt finish than anything resembling hops. Great beer!

Bottle 33 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Courtesy of cgarvieuk. Pours a deep amber with a slight haze and a beige head. Sweet aroma, a whiff of vomit! Medium body with sweet caramel and again notes of vomit. No bitterness. Extremely unclean. 060610
