From our favorite Floridian brewery comes this Belgian-style dubbel. It’s rich and fruity, with some herbal flavors, and some funkiness thrown in for good measure. And, as always, somehow it’s reminiscent of it’s hometown of Tarpon Springs.

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy's Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10
Aroma: Nose of a bunch of fruit, earth, dust, flowers, and spice
Appearance: Hazy amber color, frothy off-white head
Flavor: The taste is a weird melding of the stuff in the nose, and somewhat messy
Palate: The body is medium, and there is a bit of heat
Overall Impression: It really came off as a bit of a mess. Maybe some time in the cellar would help this one? I don;t know how old it was. I didn't dislike it, but I just can't come up with much nice to say about it either, so I'll just leave it here...

Bottle shared by joshuahfl. Cork was 2009. Pours hazy amber with a foamy beige/tan head. Aromas of sour fruit and oak. Medium body with sharp carbonation. There’s a lot of funk. There’s a lot of wood. There’s a lot of fruit. A very good sour ale. Finishes smoothly funky sour.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is yeasty with some citrus. Flavor is tart and fruity with some dark fruit and yeast. This is almost a cross between a sour ale and a saison. Still its ok but the sourness is not something i was looking for in a saison.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head recedes to skim surface. Sour tropical fruit aromas. Sharp sour pencil shavings upfront turning quickly to rotting tropical vegetation. Lasting rotten sour vegetable finish.

750ml bottle pours a translucent, copper amber with a soft, creamy, white head. Aroma is very Belgian, yeasty, sugary, apples. Flavor is the same, sweet, sugary, apple, pear, light spice. Full bodied, sweet finish.
