This fusion of selected malts and hops, Challenger, Styrian Golding, creates an ale of the finest quality. The addition of Fuggles hops late in the brewing results in a delicate aroma sensation on the tongue as befits a beer formulated for the elite in the British Empire.

Cask Handpump. Clear orange color, short head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, grainy. Bitter taste and palate.

Cask at County Hotel (JDW) Ashford. Amber in colour, some perfumed hops on nose. Acidic in mouth and on end. Bit ordinary until you get a smack of tangy hops on the end.
