As Løkken Witbier. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, yeasty and a little citrus. Flavor is medium sweet. Dry finish. Soft, watery and light bodied. A poor example of the style. 050610

Bottle. Hazy, yellow pour with lots of small floaties. The head is nice at first, but diminishes rather quickly. White and dense and leaving lacings. There’s a sour hint in the aroma, with citrus peel, wheat notes and a medicine touch. The flavor is citric and acidic, in a slightly refreshing way, yet clearly infected. There’s also some citrus peel bitterness, fruityness and wheat in the flavor, which finishes in the same way, with some bitterness. I was no way going to finish the bottle. Yet it was something nice about it. Hoped to have it on tap, but the brewpub closed an hour before I got there, so I had to go for the bottle instead. Rating: 4-3-4-3-8-2.2. 070926

Bottle. A cloudy, orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. Orangey nose with grains and some toffee. Slightly herbal too. The flavor is a bit sweet, with toffee-ish malts and orange. Some citrus peel bitterness. Not much spices to be found. Well carbonated, medium body. A beer that drinks very well, but there’s much lacking on both aroma and flavor. Especially on the cloves. Won’t drive far to have it again, but I won’t shy away from it when in Løkken. 101002

500 ml bottle. Dim golden with a nice off-white head. Aroma is grainy with fruity hops. Flavor is malty with hops and fruit. Medium body. My previous experience with this brewery says the quality could vary a lot from batch to batch, but this time they hit it right. This is really refreshing, quite light, but still tasty. Fine balance between malt, fruit and hops. A nice beer for the summer season.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Cloudy golden colour, big to moderate white head. Moderate wheaty aroma, hints of citrus. The flavour is fairly malty for a wit, with very moderate hops and a hint of citrus, but I don’t think any coriander has been used here. There’s a hint of "traditional homebrew" (maybe a slight infection?) in the finish. Drinkable, but certainly not the best witbier around.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is mild butterish and light hoppy with a touch of caramel too. Bitter and caramel malty mix swept in a butterish note. Okay when reasonably cold, but diacetyl gets slight cloying when warming up. Butterish finish as a consequence of this.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat and coriander, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet citrusy with light notes of yeast and grain. The flavor is sweet citrusy combined with light notes of wheat and grass, leading to a slightly bitter finish. The body is thin. OK, but nothing exciting about it. The name is very misleading calling a Wit beer for a bajer, which means the the beer originates in Bavaria.
