From the 11/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy golden-apricot color with a small soapy white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy fruity hops, sugar and noticeable yeast. Dry, must and bitter flavor with notes of pine and tropical fruits. Medium length pine and tropical fruit finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a small, but lasting white head. Aromas are hop forward, citrusy, spicy, resin, tangerine, and grapefruit. Light toasted malt. Flavors are equally hop forward with notes of citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and a bit of a grassy dry hop character. Lively bubbles, moderately dry, with a bit of a lasting bitterness.

Drinking HopArt is akin to chewing on a fresh cascade hop. The hops concentrated into this single IPA are deliriously potent, with a smooth malt backing that keeps things from reaching Ruination-like levels of bitterness. HopArt is a dry, piney, gorgeous pint of beer, and it keeps us Charlestonians satisfied while we wait for the next batch of COAST’s nigh-perfect DIPA, Boy King.
