(draught at Festival der Bierkulturen 2010, Köln) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Roasty malty aroma with notes of cacao, caramel, vanilla and a light touch of raspberries. Roast-bitter and slightly sour-fruity taste, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malt-character with distinctive notes of raspberries, accompanied by notes of chocolate; dry mouthfeel; bitter and slightly sour-fruity finish. 16.V.10

Very dark color, almost black. Aroma of chocolate, sourness, strong wood character, light balsamic vinegar, but not much fruits; very light cheesy yeast too. Soft mouthfeel; chocolate flavor, quite dry mouthfeel, delicate berry fruitness, pleasant and delicate vanilla from the oak. Great.

Bottle, from the gift shop. Dark brown. The aroma has a fresh raspberry note. Tart palate with lots of chocolate character. In a fruit beer, such tartness makes sense - this is a fun brew. Probably too much tartness for overall balance, but one of the tastier Weyermanns.

Tap@Festival der Bierkulturen, Cologne: Deep ruby amber coloured, solid fruity (raspberries) and (roast-)malty nose; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; same flavours show up in the lingering dryish finish with a little acidity in the aftertaste. Fine sample.....

Draught @ Festival der Bierkulturen, Bürgerzentrum Ehrenfeld, Venloer Str. 429, Cologne, Germany.Clear dark red - black brown color with a large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, raspberry, port, dark roasted malt. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, oak, raspberry. Body is medium, texture is oily and smooth, carbonation is soft. Very easy to drink nice sweet and malt bitter, may be a bit thin in mouth feel ;O) [20100515]
