Draught @ the brewpub as "Koulu Oktober." Aroma is mild with just some sweet malt. Flavour has grainy malt, toffee, minerals and some mint in the finish. A solid and clean märzen that is easy to drink. Two koulu beers today and no signs of contamination, what is this?

As just ’Oktober’, at the brewpub. Thanks Tuukka! Shiny orange-amber body. Light dry grainy nose. Similar taste only more fruity and yeasty. Not bad, far from special.

Rerating 11.9.2020. Smell of malt, some mead. Hazy amber colour, white head. Aroma of grass, malt, some honey. Medium bitter. Nicely balanced.

(Draught at the brewpub on 2008-08-30) Amber. Hazy. Medium sized white quickly disappearing head. Caramell in nose. Dryish medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Metallic flavours, cramell, bitterness and tiny hint of roastedness in taste.

Draught (now called only Oktober, due to copyright issues, same recipe as in Oktober Juhla though). Amber colour, mediumsized creamy white head. Malty, typical kouluish vegetably aroma. Flavour of vegetably malts. Hoppy finish. One dimensional, and quite boring.

Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Brownish amber, some head. A hint of vinegar in the nose. Dry and dusty, sharp, thin and fizzy. Slightly roasty. Except for being dry, and having a slight touch of grassy bitterness this beer has not many redeeming features, and bears no resemblance to the style it's aiming at.
