James Timoneys Port Stout. Lots of flavours in this stout – Sweet, roasted malt, aged port and robustly mature fruits of the vine!

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Roast malts to the fore in the aroma, plus hints of dark and vinuous fruits. In the mouth it starts off sweet but some sourness of alcoholic strength quickly becomes evident. Roast malts and dark fruits again in the flavour, plus plums and figs, leading to a dry and somewhat boozy finish. This is a decent port stout.
