16 ounce can from Tavour. Copper colored pour. Large frothy tan head. Sweet toasted malt aroma. Bittersweet toasted malt aroma hints at toffee and spicy hops. Added notes of dark cherries and over toasted walnuts. Lots of depth and flavor. A hint of warming alcohol, as well. Quite tasty.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of toasted chestnuts, followed by bready malt and some caramel. Flavour is very malty, with toasted caramel, bready malt, chestnuts, and some toffee. Not too much sweetness, with a nice nutty finish. Nice stuff.

Pour is a brown with some red highlights and a large tan head. Aroma is dark malt, lots of caramel and toffee. Flavor is more caramel malt some dark fruit and toffee with some old dusty bookshelves. Finish leaves some sweetness on the tongue like a melted tootsie roll. It's Sweet but quite flavorful and just about everything your looking for in a doppelbock is found here.

16 ounce can. Pours a dark mahogany color with a large beige head. Really amazing design. And more amazing, a salute to YOB! One of my favorite bands. A big malty nose, spicy, toffee. Sweet, toffee, toast, some cherry, light yeast. Very clean, great version of the style.
