Tap. Pours clear chestnut, small off-white head, dissipates to a ring with decent lacing. Aroma is light, malty, roast, hint of nuts, toffee. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, malty, roasty and smooth. Medium body, soft carbonation. Tasty.

Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a dark amber color with a two finger white foamy head that glistened and then fell off at a good pace. Light messy lace ran around the glass here and there.
The aroma presented some sweet and roasty nuts, sweet caramel/toffee malt base, grassy to earthy hops, light cake/sweet biscuits, butterscotch, dark bread, dried leaves, sweet wood and a little bit of milk chocolate.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and developed a subtle nutty roast more as it warmed. Aftertaste was sticky sweet nuts. Finish was the sticky sweet nuts and butterscotch.
The palate was medium bodied with a good almost sipping sort of quality to it. Carbonation felt on par. ABV felt good.
Overall, nice doppelbock to have on a chilly Spring evening. I’d have this one again, might even be good in beer bread.
