Belikin Beer is brewed in the classic continental European lager style. Belikin uses Canadian Pilsner malt in combination with a blend of German hops to create the perfect malt-hop balance for our flagship. Since December 13, 1971 the original recipe has called for a lengthy fermentation and lagering to allow the yeast to create its full conditioning. This full-bodied beer with a medium golden colour is delightful any time of the day.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Mild aroma similar to that of a pilsener. Similarities to a pilsener continue with a taste of bread and cereals. Sweet aftertaste, palate includes mild notes of cloves. Overall much better than I expected. Very refreshing and a good take on a commercial pale lager.

Pours clear pale golden with almost nonexistant white head. Mild and a bit smelly grainy nose, sweet corn. Mild bitterness, a bit grassy with very sparkly feel. Very light. Not unpleasant. Quite fresh feeling.

Thanks to my GF’s mom for bringing this one back from a trip from Belize. Pours a slightly unfiltered golden colour with a white cap, decent stay and a little foamy lace. Aromas of pils with the grain and hops. Eventually, some sweetness appears, almost like honey. This is well-balanced in the taste, but having the grass cover the sweetness. The grain malts are nice the whole way. Nothing too crazy, but does the job it aims to do.

Bottles and bottles while on my honeymoon. Poured a light yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aaron’s was light straw, sweet malts. Mild grain. Plain. Totally inoffensive.

Bottle brought back to UK by Painy - cheers!! My country #134. Pours bright golden with a lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of grain, yeast and boiled cabbage. Rather high sweetness, little by way of bitterness. Thin body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Finish is sticky and sweet. Great country tick is main positive with this...

Bottle shared by Travlr at the DC Summer Saison & Sour Tasting, 7/12/14. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of honey and meaty notes. The taste is tart fruits, non-descript malts. Thin bodied. Fairly poor.

Canadian pilsner malt represent. Had many a bottle of this before I realized that Barrel rum was a definite superior choice on Caye Caulker. Nonetheless Central America had many worse, and Belikan was good enough at Lounge Lizard bar by the rift. Thanks for reminding me of this beer, Travlr.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a small, short lived off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt and straw. Flavour is sweet with malt and grassy notes leading to a dry bitter finish. Light body, watery texture and soft carbonation. Not good, but this is about your only choice in Belize.

Loose bottle at Binny’s, silkscreened label, dated "22AUG10" Uh-oh. Well, those are the breaks when you want to tick off another 0.4% from the list of contries, or 3 pixels from the map if it returns. At least I bought this along with a 11.11.11 Vertical Epic. So. DMS smell when poured in my glass. Slightly hazy beer, at least the color is a slightly substantial yellow. Just a little residue in the bottom of the bottle. Taste has corn sweetness, and may be just a bit "hot." There is an underlying tone of bitterness that you sometimes don’t get with a cheap lager, so it’s noted here. A little bit estery, maybe due to age or however it’s fermented. I’d drink this if I was in Belize. I also note that the bottle I have more resembles the Belkin Premium bottle in the web site now, but the neck has the word "Beer" instead of "Premium" or "Supreme."
