Bottle. It’s a clear, dark copper to brown beer, with a small, beige head on top. Some lacings, but the head disappeares rather quickly. Lots of caramel on the nose, with dried fruits and an unhealthy dose of butterscotch. Some coffee too, or maybe rather coffee-candy.Does that exist? It’s full-bodied and a bit over-carbonated, maybe a bit sweetish too, sugary sweet. There’s caramel, butterscotch and coffee in the flavor, some bitterness as the beer runs down the throat. Definitely not a favorite of mine, but I think it’s equally as good as Newcastle Brown Ale, although a bit heavy on the sweetness and butterscotch. Anyway, it’s the darkest beers from Thisted that I buy more than one time, this is not one of the darkest. 101112

On tap. Clear orangey brown with a tiny head. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit and Belgian yeast (sic!). Medium body, sweet caramel and a yeasty finish with no bitterness. Very, very far from a traditional Brown Ale. 070510
