Cask. Slightly hazy amber golden with a rough off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Sweet, fruity nose with a vague vinegar touch without being really tart though. Quite full-bodied, very low carbonation, caramel notes, balsamico, a fusty touch and a dry and hoppy finish with a light tartness that comes slowly creeping. This better run fast or the last customers will get a sour beer. 210511

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of brewmash, malt, and some flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, yeast, peaches, and flowers, leading to a quite bitter finish.

Cask at The Wharf. It pours a clear, amber body and a small, coarse, white head. The aroma is biscuity and fruity, pleasant but nothing special. Some dried fruits too. The flavor has a good dash of dried fruits, some roasted hints and a fruity hoppynes. Medium body, quite dry. Roasted and fruity finish, weak. A decent one with a flavor blend that isn’t my favorite. 110320

(Cask at Bree Louise, Euston, London, 25 Nov 2009) Dark amber colour with brief head. Malty nose with dark fruit, nuts and brown sugar. Malty, slightly nutty taste with notes of dried fruit, caramel and dusty hops in a bittersweet finish. More than medium body, solid malt sweetness. Very nice beer with a good balance between a solid malt foundation and a generous hop character.

Cask at the Alexandra Hotel, Derby. Bright gold in colour with a thin white head that laced the glass nicely; rich aroma of tropical fruits, with mango and apricot to the fore; similar flavour, but with more depth - raisins, sultanas, and even coconut, and a buttery mouth feel - the whole thing rendolent of liquidised Christmas cake with a liberal sousing of brandy; the finish was satisfying, dry and lightly bitter. Very pleasant.
