A rock and roll medley of tropical fruit, berries and pine gives way to hints of roasted malt and a heady hoppiness, but with very low bitterness.

Brewed exclusive for our Norwegian market. It uses multiple malts and 2 distinct hops, Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a red tinge. The nose is of ginger bread and something tangy that I can’t put my finger on. The taste is of cake mixture, crunchy red fruit, possibly cranberries, then biscuits to finish. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, good but more interesting than good.

Farge rødlig/brun med offwhite skum. Lukt fruktig, sitrus, humle. Smak Sitrus, humle, noe bær. Fint balansert med en passe bitter avslutning. Godt øl

Aroma is slightly sweet and hoppy with resin, some caramel and fruits. Flavour is also hoppy with fruits, some bready malt, caramel and biscuits. Nice.

Bottle picked up in a Stavanger supermarket. It pours clear amber, with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, leather, nut and some caramel/toffee. The taste is wood, roasty, leather, earth, nut, touch of caramel and leaf, with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good balance and pretty drinkable for the style. Definitely not a typical BrewDog offering.

Bottle. A dense, finger-thck off-white to light beige head sits patiently on top of a clear, glowing dark golden body. Some lacings occur. The aroma is on the hoppy side, with some malty, biscuity caramel notes beneath. Lightly floral and citrusy. It’s quite smooth on the palate, although a bit more carbonated than pleasant. Quite dry. The flavor is quite mellow and balanced, with caramel maltyness and some biscuity hints laying a soft foundation for the citrusy and floral hops that also gives a fine bitterness stretching out in the far end. Overall, a pleasant, easy drinkable bitter that both tastes nice and quenches the thirst. 120204

Bitter smell. Coppery-red colour. Bitter with malty aftertaste. Actually somewhat watery. Malty. Fizzy carbonation. Medium body, long finish. Slightly fruity, which is nice. Red ale is not exactly one of my favourites, but this does qualify.

Cask at Wenlock Arms, London. A brown beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of nuts and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, nuts, and caramel, leading to a dry nutty finish.

Cask at White Horse, Parsons Green. It pours dark amber with thin beige head. The nose is wood, earth, floral and caramel. The taste is pine, roasted malt, earth, toffee, red berry and a little spice, with enjoyably long bitter-dry finish. A very drinkable bitter with a Brewdog twist.
