NL/BEL excursion day 2: at their tasting room in Rotterdam, a small one, keg. Aroma: outstanding: complex, almost brandy-like, quite unlike your usual coffee or chocolate dominated fare. Appearance: opaque cola, 2-3mm. tan head. Palate: full-bodied and oily, average carbonation; finish is well-malted, long and lingering, ending on a dry note. Taste: lightly sweet with malty notes, quite well-balanced. 100% cocoa chocolate, big alcohol hit, really good stuff.

Black with a thin beige head. Dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and licorice aroma's. Sweet taste with some burnt notes. Sweet finish with some more roasted malts. Straight forward old fashioned stout.

Draft at pelgrim. Black pour. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, coffee and malt. Taste has sweet licorice, mild roasted malt, chocolate, mocha coffee and bitter hop. Nice.

Draught at the brewpub. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy very roasted aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Long moderate bitter finish. Roast. Creamy palate.
