Dark black body with a small creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate caramel and a touch of molassas. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, molassas, some light caramel and a nice bitter end.

[Bottle] Dark brown, almost black colour. Rich but fast disappearing head. Malt and liquorice aroma with notes of smoke and vanilla. Dry and roasty liquorice flavour leading to a hoppy finish.

Medium creamy light brown head. Dark red barely translucent body. Firm sweetish earthy aroma of licorice and caramel with milky notes. Taste is spicy, oily roasty licorice with peppery notes. Clean. Dry, peppery, milky aftertaste lingers. Nice! (0.355l bottle.)

A light and airy porter. It is well carbonated and this is felt on the tongue. Flavor isn’t flawed but unremarkable in any way. Some caramel and chocolate, but overall light.

A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as slight burnt notes and a bit of coffee.The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge from the roasted malt as well as coffee, leading to a dry end, where the notes of coffee carries thru.

Bottle: Very dark brown pour with hints of burgundy. Nose is a bit malty, some chocolate as well. Taste is different than most porters I’ve tried. Not much coffee up front or in the tail, some caramel and malt with a bittersweet cocoa taste. Some tartness - almost a bit like wine, but more fruity. Thin bodied, overall not one of this season’s best.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a warm, reddish glow and a beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with lightly burned malt accents. Dry and bitter, burned finish. Quite lovely. 151206

(355 ml bottle from Swedish Systembolaget) Clear dark red color, big lasting tan creamy head. Sweet chocolate and fruity scent, also hoppy. Sweet slightly burnt chocolate taste, subtle burnt aftertaste. Medium high bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel.

Sammy sure does have a lot of types to taste! Ever so slight coffee chocolate aroma. Much better that the other holiday brews in this sampler pack. Pours almost opaque in my steeler stein with a dark tan head. Typical porter flavor with a bit of lingering bitter hops finish.

Bottle; Nose shares caramel malts with a little roastiness; Dark cherry brown with a medium tan head; Roasty malt flavor with the tiniest bit of smoke, all in a light-medium body and a small hop finish.
