(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a beige and tall foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with shy notes of caramel and sugar beet. Moderately sweet and minimally roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Slightly toasted malty taste with a tinge of molasses/sugar beet and caramel; sweet and slightly bitter finish with a light to moderate level of toasted malt and a tinge of herbal hops. Not overly enhanced but drinkable Dunkel. 25.VII.11

Bottle, 4.7%. Very subtle roasted aroma. Almost black colour, seems clear. Big stable brown head. The flavour is slightly roasted, also nutty. Not exactly flavourful, but clean and pleasant.

500ml bottle at The Berry, Walmer. Black, very dark brown, lasting beige head. Slightly smoky roasty toast on aroma. It’s ok. Not over carbonated. Some choc in mouth. Touch of fruit even. Quite good. Elements of a Scharz. Decent dunkel finish. Definitely drinkable.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A reddish dark brown beer with a finger-thick, dense, light beige head. Very weak aroma, some malts and caramel. A touch of fruityness too. The flavor is pretty much the same, too weak that is. Some bitterness. Medium body with a decent carbonation level. A super boring beer that sort of drinks easy. Not that crave to have it once more. 110319

Bottle (REWE, Buttenheim): Clear, ruby-amber coloured, fluffy off-white head with a little lace; dryish roasty nose with a delicate sweetish-caramelly background, a subtle fruitiness underneath; first sweet, then bitter flavour, pretty light bodied, but soft; slightly lingering dryish roasty and dark-malty finish. Chapeau! Unexpected quality from a brewer, who is not known for excellent brews.....
