Once a stalwart of the British pub, excellent versions of this classic style from the likes of Five Points and Boxcar have recently helped to bring it to the attention of a new audience. Copper coloured with a bright white head, Maris Otter and Aromatic malts provide the perfect base for fruity and floral English hops to shine.
Spicy orange on the nose, underpinned with caramel and biscuit from the malt. The Challenger hops give citrus freshness and a green tea note, with an earthy layer from the Fuggles. It’s bitter, obviously, but also super smooth and easy drinking with a dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Phil The Brewer. Appearance - deep amber and hazy with a soft white head. Nose - lightly soapy with red fruits and flowers. Taste - fudge and shortbread. Light caramel later with some more biscuit. Palate - close to medium bodied and creamy. Overall - good.
