[Cask at Nag’s Head, Reading] Pours black with red highlights, small tan head. Very slight tingle of fizz on the tongue, yet still smooth. Tempting hints of smoke come through at first. Quite sweet as you drink it, with increasing amountsof chocolate coming through. The sweetness is well balanced by the bitterness of roasted malts and the very English-tasting hops coming through in the finish. A nice little easy-drinking & relatively low ABV stout this, I wish there were more like this in our pubs.

Cask (Market Porter, Borough): Deep amber with reddish spots, creamy tan head with a good lace; solid fruity and dry roasty-malty nose with subtle caramelly undertones; light to medium bodied, solid dry bitter flavour with a light acidity; sourish-fruity tinge in the not too dry lingering roasty-bitter finish. Fine stout, well balanced.........

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A dark brown, almost black beer with a red shine under a dark brown head. The aroma is sweet and very malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, medium notes of roasted malt, and light notes of oranges, leading to a dry roasted cocoa finish.
