Cask at the London Brewers Showcase. Pours opaque brown with a solid, off-white head. Sharp malt aroma with roasty character. Fairly sweet with some interesting flavors. Notes of coffee, smoke, ashes, malts. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes with lingering smokiness. Good beer.

Bottle from Drink of Fulham. Had just a mere shot of this as the rest was used to make bread! Anyway, dark brown pour with a tan head. Aromas of wood, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, raisins. Strong coffee tones with aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, butterscotch. Malty and hoppy on the palate. Dry, sweet and bitter finish. Tasty.

Tasting at Papsø
Black color; small head. Mild aroma, roasted malt, with a earthy touch. Good body strength, very good chocolate and roasted malt flavor, limited residual sweetness, light liquorice and spices, correct bitterness, with some more roasted malt in the end. Very good.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost black with an orange hue and a small beige head. Hard roasted malt in the nose and a little tar. Very solid body, loads of dark burned malts, ashes and licorice. Some malt bitter finish. This is a serious Porter indeed. 100410

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. This I thought was excellent. Black, lovely roasted choc. REally good, doesn’t taste of the ABV. Really good malts, made me melt. Excellent.
