After a first top fermentation, Vivat Triple benefits from an old-fashioned skimming, by hand with an open tank system unique in France. This golden, two-grain beer is then kept in a tank for a secondary fermentation of around 4 weeks before continuing its refining thanks to a triple fermentation in the bottle. Two strains of yeast are involved here to carry out the different fermentation processes! Vivat Triple has a sweet aromatic complexity with citrus notes, perfectly balanced, with good length in the mouth.

A real bottle conditioned beer directly inspired from the Vivat Blonde, they share the same specific yeast and same cocktail of hops. It is the slight addition of spices that combine with the refermentation in bottle that gives this beer all of its aromatic complexity, sweet with citrus notes. Perfectly balanced, a generous hopping, a round and long finish are the main qualities of this exceptional beer.

330ml bottle from Alko Arkadia

Pours clear golden with a large foamy head. Aroma of soapy fruits, herbal notes, spices and malts. Taste is smooth, malty, slightly soapy and fruity with hints of herbal hops and spices. Finish is sweetish, spicy and slightly soapy with some yeasty notes. Decent tripel, but the soapy notes are a bit unpleasant.

Overcarbonated, UFO-riddled, metallic orange-copper beer, slowly gushing to huge, dense, ultra-stable off-white head. Alcohol, caramel and sugarnose, smelling rather ’hot’; sharp vegetables/herbs, faintly pickles’ aromas. Bitterish, dry flavour, slightly metallic; bit oxydation (the malts?); probably not very distinctive hops. Sugary sweetness (re)appearing warming up. Hint at sourishness (the ’pickles’ in the nose), but not disturbing. Fizzy, bit ’raw’ taste/feel; medium bodied and slick. Not bad, but there IS a certain doubt, concerning that latent acidity.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 31/05/14, from Alko Arkadia, 20130130) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was quite large, long lasting and white. Aroma had fruitiness, sweetness and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied and somewhat numbing with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, honey, malts, Belgian style yeast, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had honey, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. A quite balanced and clean tripel but also easy to forget. The palate was unpleasant.

Rewelacyjne francuskie piwo, w którym nie czuć alkocholu. A jest mocno rozgrzewające w końcówce, treściwe i bogato słodowe w smak, mętne śliczna piana i piękne opakowanie. Butelka kamionkowa i korkowana. Zdobywca nagrody w paryżu w 2008r. Polecam tego tripla.

50cl bottle. Pours golden with a lovely lacy head. The nose has custard, gorse maybe with a yeasty background. The taste is confected fruit salade with a sweet cranberry note on the finish. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a long tangy finish. Overall, really interesting beer.

Bottle at Craig’s 271012
Light golden, soft haze, thin white head
Aroma of soft belgian yeast, candy sugars, soft aromatic herbal
Taste of soft belgian fruity yeast esters, hint of banana, candy sugar, fair amount of alcohol though, not well hidden
Palate - medium carb, bit oily. Finish as main flavour, some warming alcohol
Overall - OK not the best tripel I’ve had
