Bottle. An amber beer, clear, topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Fruity, slightly roasted aroma, some licorice-like notes. Well hidden alcohol. Sweet, spiced flavor with a hint of roasted malts. Some dried fruits like prunes and apricots. A bit low on bitterness maybe, but it’s quite well balanced. Good bitterness in the otherwise sweet finish. Full body. A pleasant beer, not a quaffable one, but tasteful. 100716

Big offwhite head. Dark red body. The only aroma I am able to pick up is that of an ordinary toilet; a normal well-washed water closet. I guess I really mean the detergent. Whatever. Dry-sweet chemical perfumy smoky taste with cocos notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Light body. Dense, stale palate. Dryish licorice and smoke aftertaste. Unpleasant mix of completely unrelated tastes that don’t fit at all. WTF? (0.33l bottle, Høkeren, Copenhagen.)

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear warm amber with a tiny off-white head. Aroma has the typical Refsvindinge house character - probably from the yeast. But also lots of caramellish malt and even some alcohol. Medium body, rather low in carbonation, sweet caramel and sweet malts. No real bitterness. A typical candy brew from Refsvindinge, pleasant alright though. 010310
