Collaboration with Anh & Chi

Pandan Baby is a second generation Anh and Chi collaboration beer that plays with Vietnamese Pandan and tropical fruit forward hops to bring a refreshing and summery Hazy IPA to your palate.

Sabro and El Dorado hops - with exotic coconut, pineapple, sweet citrus flavours - come together with the always-subtle-but-ever-present creamy Pandan note. The result is what can only be described as Pina Colada-esque and will transport you to the tropics no matter what season you are consuming this fine tropical beverage.

Pretty hazy golden and straw coloured body with a slight peach glow and a nice two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of green tea, a light dose of bread and yeast with some grass and floral notes from the hops and perhaps an ever slight dose of pandan leaves in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong dry and grassy malts show at first with a light dose of green tea and some floral notes, but the perfumey aspects of the hops are nice and crisp throughout, with a lot of hay and some of the pandan leaves as well, but again, not much at all. Aftertaste shows some green tea notes, but the crisp and grassy, herbal flavours from the hops show longer at the end and bring out the dry notes throughout. Overall, a nice beer with a crisp bite throughout with way more of green tea characteristic than any of the pandan leaves, but a nice beer throughout with a subdued bitterness with a lot of dryness and some perfumey notes from the hops in a good way. Great to sample and while not full of pandan leaf flavour, a nice one to bring back home from up North. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Legacy Beer Store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 02-July-2022 for CA$5,00, canned on 16-June-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington after returning from Thanksgiving in Connecticut on 26-November-2022.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
(some details got lost) Dirty look, pale brown; there is a light coconut feeling, and light sponge cake, so, although it's not a very interesting beer per se, I admit that it tastes somehow like a pandan chiffon cake.
