(750ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours basically black with a thin mocha head and a few oily coconut floaters. Aroma of brown sugar malts with moderate but relatively acidic roast, clear presence of creamy nuts that definitely give some macadamia, plenty of floral vanilla, interesting woody hints, coconut is present but not powerful, dusty burnt grains and cacao. On the tongue, fairly sweet dark caramel and some chocolate, clear presence of creamy macadamia and slightly floral vanilla in the middle, interesting light smoky woody vibes middle to finish that must be the oak-toasted coconut, which itself is merging into the macadamia. Finish is fairly dry with dusty cacao, toasted grains and lingering macadamia nuttiness. Medium body, oily, fairly low carbonation, almost no alcohol. Nice pastry here, it's not the thickest and I'm not drinking it *super* fresh but the adjuncts are still popping; nice expression of both macadamia and the oak from toasting. I'd drink another.
