Barrel aged raspberry sour ale. A combination of Oregon grown and local berries, handpicked by longtime friend Doug McMinn, bound together in perfect harmony. The palette opens big and bright, full of sweet raspberry, oaky vanilla, funky wild yeast and a refreshing snap of acidity.

All raspberries, all the time. There are light touches of funk and oak, but this is mostly an exercise in drinking sour raspberries. Sour is medium. Good beer but it’s somewhat one-dimensional, not that there’s really anything wrong with that. I would have liked a bit more funk and depth in the flavor.

Simple and to the point, but good at what it does. Sour raspberry aroma. Good berry flavor combined with yeast and moderate sourness. Sour finish. Lots of fruit, sourness makes a solid beer. Red color.

Tasting at Papsø
End of the bottle, it pours a muddy amber-brownish color. The aroma is extremely nice, combining cellar smell and light raspberry; the cellar is more prominent in the beginning, the raspberry later; sour. The body is not very strong, sweetish, with medium sourness, raspberry fruity touch and Bretts. The final is maybe short, a bit citrusy. Not overly complex, but nice.

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of raspberries, grass, malt, and caramel as well as a bit of brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of raspberries as well as light notes of brettanomyces and caramel, leading to a dry brett finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
