Bottle that I picked up directly from the brewery in Marseille, France June 2013 consumed at Eardisley, Herefordshire Saturday 9th November 2013 This was in a large 750ml unlabelled bottle, the brewers who said that following the opening a few days before their stocks were somewhat depleted however did have this liquorice stout. I didn’t get the strength from the brewers however I would guess 5-6% approximately. On the pour this looks a little thin, the colour is light conker brown. The liquorice is subtle, taste is soft, as Baz noted this is rather smoky on the nose and also in the mouth, strength is moderate, light- medium carbonation. Easy going, smooth, no bitterness.
