A dark beer with ruby glints. This beer has echoes of an older style porter and has been purposefully soured to acheive this. There is likely to be ’horse blanket aromas’ with some bitter chocolate and sour liqourice in the mouth.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 05-02-10 Pours very dark brown and as the description suggest there are pockets of rubyness glinting away when caught by the light of the window. Some sour maltyness in the mouth and an almost fizzy lactic sourness though it has to be said that this is quite restrained and not overdone. Nicely lipsmackingly tangy with some dark soured fruit juices starting to shine through, there is a bit of liquorice there as well. Really nice stuff. I wish I’d have had a little more time at the other side of the bar as ’Bobinlondon’ stood chatting merrily sipping on this and said it just seemed to get better and better, would have been nice to have had a bit more, though as it was I rather enjoyed this.
