Aroma is very spicy, I get something like Star Anise and maybe a little nutmeg and cinnamon? Taste is also very spicy with the aforementioned spices appearing to show, touch fruity, it’s certainly Christmassy and whilst absolutely fine I think maybe a little too spicy for me, some of the more usual beery qualities have been a little swamped by the spiciness. A short time after I was discussing the Thame beers with the Landlord/Brewer Peter who informed me that he’d intended to make a liquid Christmas cake with raisin, peel, cinnamom, nutmeg etc, but by his own admission suggested that he’d slightly overdone it with the cinnamon.
