Cask-conditioned at the Raven, Bath 18/5/08. Near black with no head. Aroma of bitter chocolate with a hint of savoury and roast malt. Flavour began with some coffee and bitter chocolate before a slightly salty, dry finish. A bit subdued all round [3]. Re-rate 1/5/10 at the Priory, Tetbury. Served with a slight white head. Chocolate and sour plums were much more pronounced this time around, witha hint of salt and big, bitter finish. Very good [3.6]

BCA from The Woolpack, Banbury, 30-12-07 Poured muddy brown with tiny rim of white bubbles, I really struggle to say anything positive about this beer, it was pretty poor, I’m suprised as I’ve had some good beers from North Cotswold before, but this was thin watery, a touch of sourness on the nose, I poured it away, not great.
