(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours quite hazy deep gold with a thick white head and some lace. Aroma is aromatic mandarin and orange peels, crushed grapefruit, dried mango, pine, cannabis. Flavour is quite dry and intensely hoppy, navel orange and tangerine, some grapefruit pulp and peel, dry but bready malt, a little mango/peach type residual sweetness mid sip, touch floral, lots of peppery citrus oils and hop cones into the finish, some biting garlic or green onion, pulpy white grapefruit, moderate bitterness and mineral crispness which I’ve come to associate with N-F hops. Medium-bodied, slick, creamy soft carbonation. Solid stuff, not sure how much the hop gun treatment contributed but it felt a little greener and more aggressive than the standard N-F IPA.
