(473ml can c/o Luc, thanks! Also on tap @ Birreria Volo, Toronto, July 25/21) Pours opaque greyish-yellow with a decent white head and some lace. Aroma is a bit muted overall, lots of mandarin peels, pulpy mandarin and white grapefruit, some dank mango, papaya, fresh leaves. Flavour is a bit drier than usual Badlands, edging on muted though the can is more lively than tap. Notes of mandarin, grapefruit, yellow citrus oils, papaya, some mango sweetness and dank, bready malt, touch chalky but better than the earlier water chemistry experiments, bone dry finish with leafy bitters, citrus oils, a little dankness, lingering smooth esters. Medium-plus body, creamy and soft, low carb. Good but I didn't find it as vibrant as the 'house' Badlands profile, especially on tap it was notably a little dull. Still, I welcome further explorations of this drier Badlands concept.
