bottle pours black with a tall dark brown head. Aroma is strong chocolate with sour cherry notes. Flavor is rich black patent, charcoal and smoke with a peaty finish mixed with sour dark red fruits. Interesting beer.

Bottle @ Copenhaniacs tasting, Pt.1. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head and lacings. Nose is roasted coffee with hints of dark fruit. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee , chocolate and a heavy ashyness. Smooth and slick. Dry lasting bitter end.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark chocolate - cacao, coffee, berry, brett notes. Flavor is heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, coffee, berry notes. Bottled. A pitch black beer with thin brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, alcohol, wood, chocolate, and a bit of soy-sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes cocoa, coffee, malt, roasted malt, and wood, leading to a dry finish.

Balck with a medium deep beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, dark chocolate, espresso and hops. Sweet flavour with burned malt, dark chocolate, espresso, lemons and hoppy notes. Finished dry.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark black with a small brown and short lived head. Aroma is overripe fruity and dark roasted malty, dark chocolate. Bitter, slight acidic and lingering and chocolate malty. Nice lingering dark malty and acidic hard roasted note.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours an opaque black with a dense brown head. Sweet hard roasted malt in the nose. Very solid body, massive hard roasted maltiness with lots of vanilla. Quite some burned malty bitterness with a vaguely tart edge. This is a very straight and classic impy, but it’s amazingly well done. 140310

Black color. Strong aroma, where the paper and dust win, then roasted malt and coffee, and finally, light vanilla and alcohol. Reasonable body strength, but less than expected, very good milky, roasted malt and chocolate flavor. Balanced. A bit papery but very good.

Tap at Blind Tiger. So maybe I’m just a sucker for Russian Imperial Stouts, but I loved this guy. Poured a gorgeous black with a thick, creamy dark brown head. You know you’re in for a stout beer just by lookin’ at it. Nose is heavy on the roasted malts, with definite mocha notes. Flavor is rich and deep. Very roasty with appealing, bitter malts. Finish is sweet and also a bit bitter with apparen warming sensations from the high ABV. Overall a great version of this style and I enjoyed every sip.
