Citra hop flavor shines through in this expertly balanced IPA with just the right amount of bitterness. Showcasing local hops, Pike IPA blends citrus and tropical hop flavors with a clean, light malt character. Recently updated from the original 1990 recipe that helped shape North America’s devotion to hops, Pike IPA continues to be in a league of its own.

Golden amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma was floral and hoppy, as was the taste. Flavor is clean, crisp and included floral tones, citrus, and a nice hoppiness. A solid IPA from Pike.

Draught Pale, slightly hazy orange; small persistent rim. Good, but not really convincing hoppy nose, flowery. A good cookie-malt base for a decent hopgift, grapefruit-y, citruszeste, and hopcake. Burning MF, but again, in generaly a bit watery. Good taste, reasonable balance, failing MF.

Golden-amber colour. Toasty, woody, grapefruity aroma. The palate is strongly woody, with plenty of toasty, whole wheat bready notes to back it up. Citrus is light and lemony, adding a refreshing note to the finish to cut through what is almost too much crystal malt. Well-balanced example.

Bottle. Orange malt and orange peel/pine hops aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Earthy barley malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. The first IPA I ever had (1995) - really helped renew my interest in US craft beers. Stands up pretty well. Nice - glad I re-visited this.

Bottle Pours an unfiltered light brown with little head and just a trace of lacing. Agree with earlier reviews, hoppy aroma and taste are matched by and with, the bitter rind and pith of grapefruit. Fairly complex medley of flavors. Hops are pretty strong but balanced. Malty as well. Low carbonation here too. The finish is cleaner and quicker than other IPAs I've had. Interesting.

On draught at Winking Lizard. Pours a lustrous orange/amber color with a medium ivory head and nice lacing. The aroma is floral hops with some citrus. Medium-bodied with floral hops, tropical fruit and malt. The finish is dry with a bitter and lingering hops flavor. Overall there are very few shortcomings with this IPA.
