The fields of barley ripening in the sunshine; the hops climbing up the bines in late summer... It was sights like these that inspired Dorothy to create her Country Ale.
Made with all-natural ingredients, it’s a must for any discerning drinker who savours the summer and cares about the countryside.
This strong, full-bodied ruby ale can be enjoyed on its own or as a partner to red meat dishes, cheeses and even rich steamed puddings.

Bottle picked up at SH Jones Bicester. This was more like it, after having the Wye Valley Butty Bach I then had this one next and had picked it up without even looking at the strength in the shop. This was a corker, poured a deep copper colour with a sweet malty aroma and not much of a head. But it was the Taste Department that this really excelled in, a really full flavoured beer that tasted of toffee, malt, and some slight burned flavours excellent when compared to its stablemate and very good in it’s own right.

Burnt amber color with a thick whipped meringue of a head. Inviting fruity aroma with apricot and mango, mixed with a nice floral and spicy hop that hints at thyme. Nice caramel and fruit front, with a bite of husky astringency, some mild floral hops and a balanced finish. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Pretty nice but for the astringency.

First off, this has the best, biggest, longest lasting, most substantial, creamy head I've seen. Good aroma, some spicy wheat and hops in there. Nice amber-red color, quite hazy, bottle conditioned. Tons of lacing. Seeping with quality. Flavor is quite round and very fluffy, but has some nice bitter elements on the finish. A touch of dry, chewy caramel malt. Incredibly well done, big body, but needs more complexity to back it up. Gets a touch boring towards the end.

Bottled. Nut brown. Raisin aroma. Malty and fruity, full bodied. Salty, bitter finish. Well crafted, but perhaps a bit plain.
