St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of ‘the list’. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts.

This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Darkish amber beer, just slightly hazy. Soft palate. Full on hops. Briney grapefruit with hints of bitter orange and a little pineapple. Causes the mouth to water. Not sure this is a lager but it’s nice!

Pours clear copper color with white head. Floral aroma with some pine and citrus. Flowery with biscuit malt flavor and a little grassy with some bitterness. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Better than I was expecting.

Medium pale tan head. Light red body. Lovely citric resiny raisiny malt aroma with earthy peas notes. That really is a little bit like a helles. Bittersweet papery malty resiny citric taste with buttery pineapple notes. Fullish, kind of light, body. Mostly mild mouthfeel, but with hottish mealy aspects. Dry-bitter earthy resiny citric aftertaste with buttery malty notes. Never thought I’d say it, but this beer would benefit significantly from being less imperial. Still good, though. (0.65l bottle from somewhere in Copenhagen.)

Bottled. Ambery golden colour with small slightly off-white head, leaves some slight lace. Aroma is quite strong sweet malts and bready malts along with some slight floral and grassy hops. Also mild earthyness. Flavour is big time malts, along with some herbal, earthy and grassy notes. Hides the alcohol rather well.

Bomber - from Malt & Vine. Pours amber with a clingy 3 finger foamy off-beige head. Seems to have a large noble hop aroma. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. There’s a lot of smooth roast caramel, and there’s also a lot of hop that seems herby/grassy/floral. The overall effect is a very smooth, fairly complex and quite tasty beer. The effect suggests barrel aging - though not in a strongly flavored barrel. Amazing lager.

Bottled @Beer Hunters
Clear dark amber color, decent creamy beige head. American hoppy, ryeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Grassy-ryeish hoppy flavor, alcoholic punch and warming aftertaste. Easier version of Mikkeller’s Draft Bear.

Bomber. Deep dark golden color. Nice lager malt aroma, grassy and citrus hops. Clean. Rich malt flavor with caramel and lots of biscuits. Clean and hoppy with a big, full, rounded mouth and long-lasting bitterness. Great hops with a nice lager character. Wonderful.

Bomber poured into snifter. Aroma is barleywine malty. Caramel and citrus are dominant. Pours hazy orange with a beautiful thick head with great retention and creamy lace. Taste is a little sweet, a little sour. Tastes like fig newtons. Fruity. Finishes sour. Full-bodied, medium carbonation, oily. Decent.
