Apparently made with spices—cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander—so you expect it to smell like mulled wine but in fact it has a very yeasty aroma. There are perfumed spicy notes there but it’s not what hits you first. Its colour is dark and it has a robust flavour with a heavy, hoppy, toasty, almost sour weight on the tongue.

Bottle Pours a clear medium deep amber shestnut color with a small light tan head that had to be coaxed a bit with an agressive pour. Aroma is mild malts with some very slight hints of the "spices" that are mentioned. I would have guessed even a lager at first. Flavor does show the corriander and cinnamon and some orange peel maybe. Still mild and not much of a backbone to support these additions. Slight bitter bite at the end and a fairly thin body with soft carbonation. Hoped for more.

Pour is a boring looking amber with a small white head. Aroma is almost nothing There is some spice in there so i will at least give it a semi good rating. Flavor is way better than the aroma. Some nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon zest. I was ready to bury this one but it is quite tasty. The jokey name is something to look past as this is quite a tasty brew.

Bottle purchase from Tuckers maltings online. Poured chesnut in colour a touch hazy. Aroma was slightly spicey and a bit sweet. Taste was also a touch sweet quite stong tasting some spices but found it a bit messy overall and not what I would have expected from Hopback.

Cask Conditioned at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö
Amber color, nice head, beautiful lace. Some fruity aroma of apples and banana; light malt. Good malty body, round, with some sweetness, and excellent aromatic hopping, rising in the final. High pleasure.
