Pale Sour Ale Aged in Port Barrels with Rhubarb Added
Rhubarb is a weed, but at least it’s a tasty weed! Culinarily, too often it lives in the shadow of strawberries, but it deserves to be in the spotlight once in a while! We selected two tart pale sours both aged for more than a year in port-barrels to showcase the subtle green apple and berry fruitiness of fresh rhubarb stalks.
Brewed: 2/21/20 - Bottled: 7/30/21
Alc/Vol: 5.9% - Final pH: 3.56
Bottle Count: 558 - Cellar: 3 years

50cl bottle pours a murky gold. Pineapple and vitamin C tablets. Tart acetic finish. Don't get a ton of rhubard and the port barrel treatment seems nuanced. 6 4 6 3 11
