Draft at Van Moll. Dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of dark bread crust, rich malt, chocolate, coffee and light toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap @ Van Moll, small sample. Slight hazy brown color, short head. Aroma of dark bread, slight coffee, chocolate, caramel. Medium bitter both from malts and hop, some sweetness as well. Slight dry in the finish. Great drink for 5%.

On tap @ Arendsnest (sample size). Clear (dark) brown color. Off white head. Aroma’s: red fruit, caramel/brown sugar, roasted malts. Retronasal the roast is much more upfront with the fruit & caramel more subdued. Flavor is roasted, lightly sweet, with light fruity sourness. Light bodied, not thin. Finishes slightly dry, lots of roast, ashy almost, lightly bitter. Well done, but not really my style.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy red brown color, medium sized beige to slightly brown head. Aroma is malts, slightly roasty, caramel, a hint of dark fruits. Taste malts, caramel, slightly roasty, pretty bitter. Too much carbonation imo, really gets in the way of the flavors. Or maybe it’s just me...
