2012-11-26, bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris, 6-4-7-4-14
batch L12-47, bb March 2014

Dark amber color, hazy, with creamy and persistent head. Light aroma of caramel. Good caramel flavor, with some roasted nuts, and a hint of spices; good body structure, round, with just minimal residual sweetness; correct bitterness.
Solid beer, pleasant.

Cloudy dark amber color. Chocolate and spicy aroma, a bit dusty. Correct mouthfeel, some chocolate flavor, possibly light residual sweetness, but also too much yeast and vegetables. Average beer; not bad but imprecise.

Bottled. An unclear amber with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices, leading to a spicy finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Very dark brown with a slight reddish tint. Almost black. Good head, but quickly vanishing. A sweetish, malty aroma with raisins, chocolate, spices, a hint of coffee. Some earthy aroma in there as well. Alcohol too. Sweet, malty, flavor with lots of chocolate and some spice and coffee. Interesting and different. Somewhat strong tasting. Some rather medicinal flavors as well, which are not so pleasing. But they are in the background. Also figs or raisins as well. Finish is mouth tingling with alcohol, sweet malt. Roasted taste as well. I like this. It is not perfect, but it is complex, earthy, also spicy and fruity. A great beer, though a step from perfection.
