Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Dark brown russet ruby colour lasting tan head. Malty fruity aroma. Some fruity malty flavour in the mouth. It’s like Soreen malt fruit loaf. Very malty. Lots of peppery hop on the finish. I love the plums dark cherries and the brown malt level. Very drinkable. I’ve decided I do like beer. In fact I like lots of beers of different types. I’ve had a couple of IPAs, now a Belgian strong and I’ve got a German something next. God I love beer.

Hazy dark ruby brown colour, decent creamy beige head, recedes slowly, good lacing. Aroma sweet malty, caramel, candy sugar, roasted, cacao, some cinnamon. Taste medium sweet and bitter, some chocolate. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, malty bittersweet finish, chocolate, spicy notes (cinnamon, cloves), hint of wood, alcohol well-hidden. Overall a tasty and robust winter beer.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, dark brown, nice head. Starts intense malty, strong, a bit alcoholic, some fruity notes. Hints of caramel, a bit earthy. Strong-malty finish, light woody notes. A good one!

Dobre smaczne ze srednia piana piwo koloru ciemnego bursztynu. W smaku smaczne karmelowo rodzynkowe. Przypomina belgijskie piwa swiateczne. Tresciwe i nieco wytrawne w koncowce. Zgrabna buteleczka z artystyczna etykieta. Piwo ktore zachecilo mnie do skosztowania srebrnym medalem w Paryzu. Udane dobre lecz nie porywajace piwo.

Cloudy brown beer. No head. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Very airy. Sweet caramel with burned brown sugar. Repressed orange and sweet cherry. Soft airy finish. Light as a feather sweet beer that doesn’t taste anything like 8.0%

Decent Christmas brew with plenty of maltiness and dark barley taste. Good heavy flavour but not too syrupy, rather modest wet finish. It’s what a Noël beer should be.

2012-11-26, bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris, 6-4-7-4-14
batch L12-47, bb March 2014
Dark amber color, hazy, with creamy and persistent head. Light aroma of caramel. Good caramel flavor, with some roasted nuts, and a hint of spices; good body structure, round, with just minimal residual sweetness; correct bitterness.
Solid beer, pleasant.
2010-01-11, tasting at Papsø’s, 6-3-5-3-11=28
Cloudy dark amber color. Chocolate and spicy aroma, a bit dusty. Correct mouthfeel, some chocolate flavor, possibly light residual sweetness, but also too much yeast and vegetables. Average beer; not bad but imprecise.
