Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thin light gray brown head. Aroma has a strong coffee note as expected with an undertone of roasted malts. Flavor has a coffee note, but it is less intense and the roasted malts show in the finish.

bottle pours dark mahogany with a medium light tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate malt, cake, and light coffee. Flavor is rich chocolate malt and sweet cocoa, some nutty character in the vein of a walnut with a nice mellow coffee finish. A tad light for a porter but full of flavor and delicious.

Mahogany color; small creamy head. Dry aroma of coffee, dusty. Harsh and astringent coffee flavor (bad coffee; guys, did you ever hear of espresso???), with some sourness from the roasted malt, and light liquorice. Rough.

12 oz bottle sent my way by alagnak. 02.04.10 - best if consumed by this date on the label. Pour is a hazed brown ruby with nice settling building up a pretty 2 inch tan head. Head falls with some streaky lacing. Aroma of ground coffee, tobacco and a nice roast malt. As it opens up, the coffee picks up some depth. Under the coffee and roast is a straw and pine element which adds some good freshness to the nose. Taste is the coffee up front and center. The coffee is pretty flat and dull tasting, does not really have the depth of the nose. The straw and tobacco come out midway through the flavor and the roasted malt is in the finish. This was all coffee up front, all porter in the back. Transition and amplitude of flavors are just ok. Palate is medium, creamy texture with some nice mineral dryness to the finish. The roast lingers in the aftertaste nicely. Nice one, thanks Chris.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of milk chocolate and lighter notes of roasted malt and a bit of coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, coffee, and milk chocolate, leading to a dry and very roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe and byaeger for this.
