Tap at the fish market. Golden clear, white bubbly head. Aroma is slightly creamy, grainy, slight malt sweetness. Taste is floury, slight fruity sweetness, touch of caramel. Slight bitterness. Ok. Not exciting, but nothing wrong with it.

At a tasting, thanks, medium bubbly head, clear darkish yellow color, aroma of biscuit and some honey, flavor of honey candy,, just a bit sourness, light bitterness. A bit too sweet and not too exciting but still fair.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Yoav's place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Golden. Graininess, malt, a bit of honey, a bit of acetaldehyde, sweetish, OK bitterish noble hops finish, rather light-bodied. Easy-drinking, probably quite decent when fresher.

Can from Odawara. Drank from the can. Bready grain with a bit of sweetness on the palate. Good carbonation and well-balanced, but the hops seemed a tad muted. Finish has some light bitterness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hakone Pils on 20 Oct 2016 at 19:14 - Score: 6

On tap at the brewery’s cafe in Kazamatsuri. Part of the 800 yen tasting set. 5.5% A clear straw gold with a foamy white head, the nose reminds me a bit of that maltiness of a Bud but cleaner with a bit of a floral hoppiness to it. The taste is quite full bodied for a pils, malty with a crisp dry hop finish. That earthy malt flavor isn’t my bag but it’s quickly replaced with a clean bitterness & a sweet aftertaste. Tasty.

Bottled. A slightly hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and a bit of perfume. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and a bit of citrus, leading to a lightly bitter finish. Thanks Theis for sharing.
