Our friend and blending maestro Alex Lynch from Mieza blendery (Alexandria, VA) joined us for an extended session in our barrel cellar a couple months ago. After tasting a dozen barrels, we settled on a marriage of an old-tart Marylambic aged in a wine barrel and young-hoppy pale sour in a Calvados cask. Finally we imparted the blend with tropical and stone fruit aromatics by dry hopping it with experimental HGC 586 hops.
