A dark, rich and layered stout with a wonderful silky texture and a lingering finish. We use a complex mash including roasted barley and oats along with 3 types of malt to give the beer plenty of black coffee and dark chocolate notes that make this stout intense yet approachable.

Flasche (33 cl) von April Gourmet, Peking. - Tief schwarzbraun, dunkelbeigefarbener Schaum. - In der Nase interessante Röstaromen: Espresso, Lakritz, dazu schwere Malszüße, fein abgeschmeckt mit zart säuerlicher Frucht (Johannisbeere). - Im Antrunk kräftiges Röstmalz, Bitterschokolade, Rosinen. Runder karamelmalzsüßer Körper; glattes Mundgefühl, für meinen Geschmack etwas zuviel Kohlensäure. Im Abgang milde Malzbittere aber kaum Hopfen, dadurch bei aller Malzfülle etwas leer. - Ein intensiv malzsüßes und angenehm röstiges Stout, aber ich vermisse den kernigen Hopfen und die holzige Bittere anderer Stouts.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Deep black coloured, medium sized brown head, surprisingly weak nose; just a timid whiff of chocolate. Mild roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and licorice with notes of oats in the finish. Smooth but rather ordinary stout.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, bread, sweet malt, dark bread, oat. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dark bread, roasted, oat. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20150426]

330 ml. bottle from Malt Attacks. Shared @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Black, little mocha bubbles. Nose is huge umami, soy sauce, sugar, sweet,… Taste is same, umami, herbal, soy sauce, sugar with no real depth,… Just a bunch of umami, soy sauce, not my style. Others did like it more than I did.

Bottle 33 cl. Black with a short-lived light brown head. Roasted aroma, with liquorice, coffee and chocolate sense. Sweet taste, light bitter with coffee end.
