Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 33B: Bourbon / 30A: vanilla - Base beer: 20C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch BCBAB01 (BB: 12/2028) AROMA: medium-high bourbon alcohol aroma. low chocolate-like malt background with hints of dried dark fruits. APPEARANCE: dark brown body and opaque. thin brown head with no retention. TASTE: initial medium-high bourbon flavor followed by low dark chocolate and coffee. medium bitterness with a semi-dry finish with hints of roastiness. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with a slight velvety texture. low carbonation. hot alcohol sensation. OVERALL: another barrel aged imperial stout with excessive barrel contact, leaving it unbalanced towards the spirit and muting the base beer. vanilla not detected.
