Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and we’ve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

5.2% ABV version. Bottle, 0.33l. Pours a clear amber color with small, short lasting white head. Smell is a bit like your average lager. Medium body with smooth and oily texture. Medium carbonation. Taste is balancing between bitter and sour, with sourness coming through mostly in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a bit dry. It is somewhat lacking in aroma department, not coming through good enough. Water / beer ratio should be reversed, so to speak. However, there are some hints of caramel, nuts and spices. A bit grassy aftertaste with a long and dry finish. Overall, a bit mediocre but not bad. Could be better, tho.

0.33 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Beer tasting at Brnja’s place. Thanks! Clear amber, small off-white head. Slight metallic, faint malts aroma. Sweet, some whiskey-like maltiness. Light body, medium carbonation, light creamy texture, light finish. Not good.

Sampled on nitro draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a caramel brown color with a large creamy beige head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweetish and a bit toasty with honey, toffee and a bit of golden fruit. The flavor was sweet and malty with honey, toffee and faint golden fruit. Hint of tobacco underneath. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth. Pleasant.

helder koper met beperkte getinte kraag aroma is moutig, caramel, met wat noten en aardse tonen. smaken zijn redelijk zoet, zacht, licht bitter, moutig, iets weeïge mouten, caramel, lage co2, matige body, iets simpel. jammer

Bought a 500 ml bottle on a recommendation from a beer friend. The color is an attractive golden red and the head is eggshell white that slowly dissolves. I smell malt and corn. I find the taste to be friendly, again a light maltiness, toffee-sweetness and biscuit, but not challenging. The wrap up is a smooth bitterness. Decent but I prefer more character to want to buy again.
