Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and we’ve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

First of this style, so not much to compare against. Pours a dark copper from a bottle. Fruity aroma, although I swear when I opened the bottle it kind of smelled like a dog fart. And I don’t have a dog. And I didn’t fart. Just sayin’. Sweet cookie like flavor, big effervescence like a soda. Good beer.

Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. Pours clear brown with a small off-white head. Smells of wet dog, glue, caramel malts. Taste is roasted nuts, caramel, light raisin. OK, but not creative.

Bottle from Bierlieb. Generally a malty beer with a rather low carbonization and low bitterness. Nutty indeed, but there’s not much to discover. Rather plain.

Why does everything I have from green king taste so boring? Pours orange with pillow of head and great lacing. Touch of citrus and malt. Clean finish. Tap at pizza paradiso.

Poured from nitro can thanks Willrunforbeer. Dark caramel pour with a foamy white lingering uead. Aromas of plum raisin and caramel. Taste is somewhat flat with notes of sweet malt stone fruit and caramel. Not the best.
