(950ml growler from the BG18e brewpub) Pours near opaque reddish-purple with a small dense pale purple head and a fair bit of berry pulp in the liquid and on the glass. Aroma is crazy umami up front with a huge punch of kalamata olive over sweet-tart and somewhat earthy pip-heavy raspberries, moderate lactic tartness. Flavour has the salt and umami vibe dialled back slightly but it's still there, core is lactic kettle sour plus berry tartness with mild sweetness, raspberry with some black rasp depth as expected, moderate pip bitterness, tannins from fruit skins, tangy into the finish, not really getting the vanilla at all, some salt/umami lingering in the aftertaste. Medium-plus body with a bit of grittiness from the purée, light carbonation. Not a bad smoothie but I can't figure out or get over where all the olives came from in this style and fruit blend, a bit distracting really.
